The schedule is out for the 2008 Asian Poker Tour, and the first event will take place in two months time in the Philippines. The tournament series will host four major poker tournaments during the season, with a stopover at the biggest gambling hotspot in Asia, Macau.

The 2008 APT starts right around the same time as the 2008 WSOP, at the end of May. The Philippines leg will begin on May 27 and play through until June 1. Event Two will be in Macau, Event Three in South Korea, and the final event will play in Singapore.

Last year Singapore was the Asian Poker Tour's first stop, where two locals made it to the final table, and well known European poker pro Tony G took down the event as the first ever APT winner.

This year the APT builds on the success of their first run to offer a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million. This means that no matter how few players participate, there will be at least a million US dollars paid out; given the popularity of the series, however, there will likely be no shortfall of players.

The first leg of the APT will have 400+ players fighting it out for the cash and glory. The buy-in is $2,500, but online qualifying tournaments will soon be available.
