One of the trickier problems when playing poker is figuring out how to get paid. Not when you flop a better hand and you have a weak player at the table that is going to pay you off – you don't really DO anything to get that, it just happens. What we mean is how to get the difficult money, the kind of chips that are going to help you win a tournament. To get those you need to learn how to bait an All In Trap.

Here is the situation: you have top pair and a flush draw, and you are fairly certain that your opponent is either on a weaker draw (you have the Ace) or has something that is beating you like two pair. You tried to move him off the pot with a big bet but he is hanging on like a dog with a bone. When you see the turn card you do a little dance of joy (this is online poker, you can do that) because you got there with a final flush card. But your opponent is no fish; he knows this card could have him beat. How, then, can you get all his chips?

Coming out firing will work sometimes – moving all in could get a call if he also hit a flush, or if for some reason he is a doubter. The problem is you can't really control those factors; so you should do something that IS in your control.

Make a bet and hope that he raises. If he does, do NOT go all in. Raise him back, slightly more than double what he raised. You are initiating a "I'm tougher than you" contest. He will more than likey push back with an all in move and you've got him.

If he acts first and bets, once again do not move all in- just double or triple his bet, and you should get the same result.

Happy fishing!
