Excellent software with poker games that move fast superb functionality… not to mention the number of online poker players which reach 1500-2000 real money ring game players during peak hours, and 1500-2200 tournament players. Solid numbers, good games!

Card Game Choices

You won't find anything too crazy here, but they do have the basics covered! With Texas Holdem, 7 Card Stud, Omaha Hi and Omaha Hi/Lo at your fingertips… you won't be bored. Fixed limit games are available in all,with pot limit in both Omaha versions, and pot limit and no limit in Hold'em. Nice amount of games!

Gameplay

You can get the feel of things by downloading the Betfair free poker software (went smoothly) and then you'll be ready to get in the game! Betfair Poker offers some high stakes games ($100/200) and can play in any of three top currencies. Lower stakes tables are available for $0.15/0.25 at No Limit and Pot Limit tables… so there's something for everyone at all levels of play.
If you're not familiar with the rules of the various poker games, BetFair provides a handy "how to play" online poker section on the tips and advice including: Texas Holdem poker tactics, Omaha poker tactics, plus single and multi-game poker tactics. Unfortunately Betfair's banking comes with a slight fee (their instutition charges them, so they charge you!) of 1.5% on Credit Card deposits ONLY! UK Debit Card deposits or withdrawals to ANY card have NO FEE. You can also deposit and withdraw by Bank Transfer (has a small fee for withdrawals) or Bank Cheque (no fees). Would be nice if they add NETeller.

Interface

The Betfair Poker software is very easy to navigate and has solid playability. You can easily get around the lobby to find just the right table, view who is already sitting in (and where they are from), chat with fellow players, and use buttons to make your next moves easier.So from a usability standpoint, the software is good.

Rake

The rake at Betfair is 5% for games that make the flop (no flop, no drop!)with a limit of 3 (in any currency) rounded downto the nearest 25 unit.

Incentives

Betfair Poker offers a slightly different incentive scheme than your average online poker site. While you get the basic Bad Beat Hand and Royal Flush Jackpots, I think you'll be surprised by what else they have. Players can earn points toward better commissions at their sportsbook (which was probably instituted due to so many of them coming over to play poker) and they also have a 'Proposition Player Scheme' where they pay you $10-30 an hour to start up new games or play short handed tables. Very cool!
