Burt Boutin - So close…so close. For Henderson, NV, resident Burt Boutin, his fifth place finish at the 2006 World Series or Poker’s Event 3 Pot Limit tournament must have been a mixed bag of blessings.

Just five years previous, Burt was the champion of this event, the top dog, el Jefe, the Holder of the Sorted Bag of Blessings. In other words, he won it.

Coming into this year’s event, once the tenth place finisher busted out, dreams of storming the hill and retaking his territory certainly began to haunt Burt. Or perhaps I’m presuming too much. Still, being back at the final table of the event you won in 2001 had to have jazzed him up somewhat. In the end, it was fifth place for Burt, with enough of a cash prize to jump start his way towards a second million in tournament winnings.
