Dan Nassif Profile
August 25, 2006 - Chris Welsh
Dan Nassif - Probably the only thing that could have made Dan Nassif’s story better is if his job was horrible and he actually told his boss to shove it before going on the play at the final table at the 2006 World Series of Poker main event. Still, having to extend your vacation because you are one of nine millionaires being "forced" to stick around the Rio in Las Vegas to compete for $12 million isn't half bad. So it was for Dan, a 33-year-old account executive from St. Louis, Missouri, who hadn't planned on lasting very long in the main event. It seems at last year he also played in the main event but busted out on day one, moving all in with pocket tens only to run into and AK that spiked an ace for the win. This year must have felt like sweet, sweet justice.
It was on the fourth day of the main event on the Dan realized he might do well, he was fairly well ahead of most of the other players and this point here to call in to extend his vacation. While it might have seemed anti climactic that his Final Table Run only lasted around a half of an hour, hitting the rail with $1,566,858 for a ninth place finish ain’t too shabby.
