For those of you keeping track of the 2008 World Series of Poker schedule, we have a message for you: stop! Let us take care of that, you just focus on winning yourself a seat to the big dance (and you can visit our 2008 World Series of Poker Offers page to do just that.) Two events have switched places for the upcoming WSOP, and we have the scoop for you here.

The events in question are Event #40 and Event #45. The events' time slots are staying in the same, but the actual events are switching.

The original schedule called for the $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. World Championship to start at 12 in the afternoon on Sunday, June 22 as Event #40. Event #45 was supposed to be the $2,500 buy-in 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball, starting Wednesday, June 25 at 5pm.

The new schedule has #40 and #45 at the same dates and times, but now #40 is the $2,500 buy-in 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball, and #45 is the $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. World Championship.

Why? To help ESPN get the right amount of coverage for the H.O.R.S.E. event, which has been a big deal ever since it debuted a couple of years ago. ESPN is promising "extensive film coverage" of the event, which has been linked to Chip Reese in his honor. Reese, who passed away this year, was the first winner of the$50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E .

An early start this year will hopefully keep the players out of the heat as the 2008 WSOP, the 39th year, starts on May 30. The festivities will run through July 16th and consist of 55 separate events.

(Editor's Note: You can't qualify for the WSOP via VC Poker unless you sign up!)
