Poker Movies

Quick; everyone who's seen Rounders, raise your hand. Okay, now put your hand down before someone walks into the room and thinks you've lost your marbles. Of course if its one of your poker buddies, just have them read this page and they'll likely have to raise their hand, too.

It seems like the majority of poker players, at least those who got the bug to try their hand at professional play in the last five years or so, lists this Matt Damon movie as a major influence in their decision. For those who fell in love with poker earlier than that, ask them about The Cincinnati Kid.  The fact is, there are a ton of poker movies out there, and with the popularity of poker online and on TV you can bet there are a lot more on the way.

From Poker-centric films like Rounders to just flat out awesome films in the neighborhood of poker, like Ocean's Eleven, there are a great variety of movies to pick from; some will entertain, some will educate, and some will let you mark off another item on your New Year's Resolution list. "Watch Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels." Check.

Here at GuidetoPoker we've started a list of great poker movies for you to check out, and we will keep adding to the list so you'll need to check back often. In addition we will be providing the scoop on any new Hollywood projects that you won't want to miss in the theater, and warn you away from the stinkers.

Enjoy!
