Pokerstars World Blogger Championships of Online Poker
October 08, 2007 - Chris Welsh

You take time to write down your poker experiences, and relive bad beats—no matter how much it hurts. You pour your heart into your words, putting it all out there in your poker blog, but is anyone reading? What are you getting from the experience? If nothing else, you can get a shot at $40k in prizes, thanks to Pokerstars World Blogger Championships of Online Poker.
Okay, maybe you DO have a lot of readers—either way if you have a blog about poker you are eligible to play in the WBCOP, which is coming up quick on October 14th. Pokerstars has a reputation for putting on quality online poker tournament series, and this is no exception. In fact, this will be the third year that Poker Stars has put on the blogger event, rewarding all those writers out there who do their part to keep the poker vibe alive.
If you don't have a blog and are thinking about hitting blogger to put one up, great- but you won't be able to play this round. You have to have your blog up for at least two months and update it on a regular basis to qualify. You need to submit your blog url to Poker Stars for their review; once they give you the okay, you will be automatically registered.
So what can you win (besides the respect and envy of all the other poker bloggers out there)? With $40,000 in prizes, you could win a lot. Plasma TVs, Xbox consoles, iPods and the like are all up for grabs for those who can play poker as well as they can write about playing poker. And on that note, if you've been doing more writing than playing, head over to PokerRoomSchool.com to brush up on your poker skills before you play.
Oh, you need one other thing to play in the World Blogger Championships of Online Poker- a PokerStars account. (check out our Poker Stars review)
