Scott Clements Profile
August 10, 2006Coming from the mountains to the desert takes a little bit of adjusting the considering he was arriving in Las Vegas strictly on business, Scott Clements likely to a moment to get focused and went on about his purpose in sin city -- to win big at the 37th annual World Series of Poker. Scott knows about winning, in fact the month before the World Series poker began he had one circuit event at Lake Tahoe, priming the pump for the action that would come at the Rio and Vegas. On day three of the Omaha high low split event, 342 players had already been eliminated, and only eight more stood in Scott’s way of grabbing the larger share of the roughly one million dollar prize pool. But, what a nine they were, including Thor Hansen, Brent Carter, Martin Corpuz, 1989 WSOP Champion Phil Hellmuth Jr. and Peter Costa. There were 13 bracelets among the players at the table, but that didn’t stop Scott.
In the end it was Scott Clements taking home the $301,175 and the bracelet that Hellmuth was hoping would be his tenth, brining up Scott’s total cashes to 6.
