The 2007 World Series of Poker Europe set all manner of records, including the first WSOP event to play outside of the US, the first WSOP Championship event to be won by a woman, and the youngest ever Main Event champion.
Annette Obrestad went from being an internet phenom (and prodigy, starting her online poker career at the tender age of 15!) to being a live poker force, which she went on to prove with consistently high final table finishes in major events after the inaugural WSOPE.
The 2008 WSOP Europe will run from September 19th to October 1st, 2008 in London, England, hosted by London Clubs International once again. As last year the various events of the WSOPE will be held at different casinos; Fifty at St. James, The Casino at the Empire in Leicester Square, and the Sportsman at Marble Arch.
The schedule for the 2008 WSOPE has yet to be announced, but you can be assured that once it is, it will be posted here. Online qualifications are soon to come, and players from around the world will be vying for the chance to become the next WSOP Europe champion.
