Battle of The Britons Takes Casualties in Event #52

Britain's hopes in Event #25: $25,000 No Limit Hold'em Six Handed have ended with Sam Trickett and Martins Adeniya eliminated from the event. They can take small consolation in finishing ahead of Daniel Negreanu, Carlos Mortensen and Juan Juanda.

Trickett was knocked out in 7th place for $141,168, at the end of day three, having started the day in third chip lead.

Trickett took Adeniya's tournament scalp sending him out in 13th place ($58,699) before eliminating Abe Mosseri and Isaac Haxton.

Falling behind the pack, Adeniya opened up on the button for 60,000. Trickett called in the big blind.

The flop came 4-5-10. Trickett checked and Adeniya bet 75,000. It was a trap. Trickett made it 400,000 to go, putting Adeniya pretty much all-in. Adeniya did that, costing Trickett 25,000 to see out the hand.

Trickett: Q-Q

Adeniya: 10-8

Trickett was in front and Adeniya's fate was sealed as a third queen came on the turn. The king on the river was academic as Adeniya went out to friendly fire.

Trickett then put Mosseri out in 12th which put him into a commanding chip lead, but it would not last long. First, Eugene Katchalov doubled through him. Then Haxton took a sizeable chunk of his stack, but Trickett had the last laugh eliminating Haxton in 9th. Shawn Buchanan then doubled through as Trickett's stack fluctuated. An ace-queen v ace-king pre-flop battle with Jason Somerville crippled Trickett's stack, before Trickett went all-in against Buchanen.

Buchanan opened in the cut-off for 130,000, in the small blind Trickett came over the top all-in.

Trickett: A-10

Buchanan: J-J

An A-J-7 flop left Trickett a long way behind. Neither ace appeared on the flop nor turn and Trickett's game was over.
