Chris Bigler - If there's one place an entrepreneur can have a ball it's in the world poker. Born in 1949 in Zürich, Switzerland, Chris Bigler was to become one of the entrepreneurial movers and shakers moving into the 21st century. A former Internet business consultant, Chris stumbled upon poker on a Las Vegas business trip. Being bitten hard by the poker bug, Chris began to devour books on poker including the seminal works of Doyle Brunson and David Sklansky. Two years later he proved he had the stuff when he made the final table of the World Series of Poker. Just a few years after that, Chris sold his business to found the web site Pokerpages.com.
While still maintaining a home in Switzerland, Chris also lives in Las Vegas where he competes professionally as a poker player. When he isn't playing poker, Chris is back home in Switzerland spending time with his family. When he is with his wife and son he applies the same focus to them as he does to the cards when sitting at the felt; in other words when at home he doesn't play poker.
Chris plays online, often at Poker Stars, and he can spot online players who are sitting down at a live table for the first time, often by the way they fumble their chips. If you find yourself sitting across from Chris Bigler you're likely playing no limit Texas hold 'em, Chris's favorite game. Chris also enjoys pot limit hold'em, and is better at tournaments than at cash games. When it comes to other professional poker players that Chris looks up to his picks are Daniel Negreanu, TJ Coutier, and Erica Seidel.
Chris has a few other big-time poker accomplishments under his belt, including a first-place finish from the L. A. Poker Classic and six televised final tables.
