Nickname aside, David "Chino" Rheem is pretty transparent- he really, really wanted his first World Series of Poker bracelet during Event 14 of the 2006 WSOP. Heads up with Allen Cunningham- which already should have preparied him for second place- Chino was reportedly inconsolable after losing in favor of Cunningham getting his fourth bracelet. He probably wasn't weeping when he deposited the three hundred grand he got for second place, however.
Chino has cashed eight different times in various events, including a Limit Hold'em event in the 2006 WSOP. With total tournament winnings of around $418,000, this Los Angeles poker player is making quite a name for himself, and quite a living, playing cards. He also knows when to take risks, as evidenced by his most pivotal hand in Event 14. Rather than the hand he lost to Cunningham with, the more important hand was the one he beat "Captain" Tom Franklin with, calling all in with Ace Five of Diamonds on a nut flush draw and a straight draw. He fished a diamond out on the river, moving him up from a $185,431 win to a guaranteed $327,981 win.
