Don Zewin Profile

Born in Niagara Falls, New York, Don Zewin began playing poker in his hometown.  After some time Don made a fateful decision. He packed up and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1979 solely to become a professional poker player.  He succeeded.  He has gone from playing poker in 20 hour grinding sessions to pay the bills, to coming within two spaces of being in 1989 World Series of poker champion, busting out in third before Johnny Chan and Phil Hellmuth, to being able to make a living in just a few hours of poker that day.

With 25 years of steady poker play, Don Zewin is a true pro.  He's unreadable at the table, and although he hasn't been in much tournament action since the 1989 WSOP event, he recently poked his head up at the World Poker Tour's Doyle Brunson North American Championship, which could indicate that Don might be a major player in this year's World Series of Poker.
