Grosvenor Casinos - in association with Blue Square Poker - kicked off Leg 3 of the GUKPT with a VIP party held at the G Casino in Piccadilly on Tuesday night.
The event attracted leading poker professionals including Nic Persaud, Neil Channing, Joe Grech, Blue Square Poker sponsored player Karl Mahrenholz and his fellow "Hit Squad" members including last month's GUKPT Leg 2 winner Sunny Chatta.
Guests were invited to play in a series of Sit'n'Go tournaments (photo attached), with the final three players on each table winning entry to the £100 bounty tournament, which takes place on the final Sunday of the Leg 3 Festival.
Winners included the irrepressible Catman AND Catgirl as well as young poker sensation, Sam Trickett (winner of 2008 GUKPT Leg 6).
Players and press were also treated to complimentary drinks, hors d'ouvres and a raffle, whilst magician David Bonsall demonstrated card tricks that left all the poker card-sharks spellbound!
We particularly look forward to next Friday (27th) at the Leg 3 main event, as Azzy Azghar, a reporter for the Poker Channel, issued a challenge to the sartorially elegant Paul Parker (2007 GUKPT Best Dressed Man winner) as to who will be best-dressed at the Grosvenor Victoria casino. A bottle of champagne will be bought by the loser and we'll be there to judge!
The GUKPT Leg 3 Festival runs from Thursday 19th March through to Sunday 28th March, starting with a Heads-Up tournament.
The £1500 main event runs from Thursday 26th - Sunday 29th March and there is still time to qualify at participating Grosvenor and G casinos or online at Blue Square Poker.
