How to Play Rush Poker - Part 3, The Suggestion of Strength

After those sultry tones have sung you to your Rushpoker table, you will find yourself in the BB and may be tempted to fall into an unprofitable line that most Rush players tend to follow, that of over defending your blinds. It seems that the majority of players you will encounter are more than happy to see a flop from the BB with a wider range of hands than you would expect from even a normal six max game. However, this is a complete waste of money over time and simply not good poker, especially given that most players in this game are generally far tighter than the norm.

Contrary to most ring game strategy, I believe the SB is a far more profitable position to play for one main reason -

The Suggestion of Strength

You can actually suggest you have a hand that is well worth playing from the SB, this comes from the fact Rushpoker provides a "Quick Fold" button and most players will indeed use this and move on to the next hand. Your opponents will be wary that you have WAITED to act, then taken a couple of seconds or so to come out raising against them, especially from a position that nearly all players consider to be the weakest to get involved in a hand from. A personal play of mine is to 3bet a button raise from the SB with the full range of hands I would normally play and commit to a Cbet on the flop, betting around 70% of the pot. Doing this I tend to find out very quickly if there is a good hand facing me but for the majority of the time it takes the pot.
