Scotland's Paul Kerr has come third in Event #54: $1,000 No Limit Hold'em winning $255,076 for his valiant effort.
He started the final day in eighth place and held his nerve as (six of) those around him lost theirs.
As play went three handed Kerr was the short stack on just over $1 million to David Peters and Marcel Vonk who were pretty much level on around $5 million.
Kerr got the break that he desperately needed to stay in the tournament when his J-10 defeated Vonk's A-10, doubling him up to $2 million in chips, but his luck was not to last.
Kerr and Peters saw the flop of 5♣-J♠-9♠. Peters bet 115,000 and Kerr called. The turn brought Q♣ and Peters fired out 270,000. Kerr announced all-in and Peters called.
Peters: Q♠ 9♦ - Kerr: J♣ 6♣
Kerr needed a club to keep his tournament alive and one appeared on the river. But it was the 9♣ making a full house for Peters.
Marcel Vonk then defeated Peters heads up to take a $570,960 pay day and the World Series bracelet.
