Ladbrokes Poker this weekend announced the start of a year-long sponsorship deal with Shane Lynch, Boyzone singer and racing star.
During Boyzone’s break, Shane has become one of the biggest stars in drifting, the UK’s fastest growing motorsport. Ladbrokespoker.com has signed to sponsor Shane’s drifting season and – in order to prove that poker is for everyone – has committed to turning the singer from poker virgin to a proficient player.
Having had his first poker experience a little more than a year ago, when he stood in for band mate Ronan Keating at the 2008 Ladbrokes.com Irish Poker Festival in Killarney, Shane now faces a whistle stop journey through all forms of poker. He’ll try his hand at online poker, live, VIP style, and will visit the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. His poker journey will end in his native Ireland, where he’ll play in the ultimate everyman tournament – Ladbrokes.com Irish Poker Festival, Killarney. And to give him an added incentive, Ladbrokespoker.com has pledged to donate £1,000 to the charity of Shane’s choice if he finishes in the top 100.
Shane’s journey kicked off when he took his seat at the Manchester 235 Casino for his first ever Ladbrokes VIP poker event on Friday 5th March.
