Man Convicted of Botched Poker Robbery

A San Antonio man faces up to life in prison after being convicted of a botched poker game robbery.  Deaon Deshawn Hargrove was found guilty of armed robbery at a poker game at a Northwest Side home.

State District Judge Sid Harle is scheduled to sentence Hargrove later this month, after jurors took less than an hour, yesterday, to find the 39 year guilty of aggravated robbery.

Hargrove and two other men burst into the game brandishing handguns and shotgun last April.  The host of the game called 911 and hid the telephone, leaving the line open as the robbery took place.

Aggravated robbery is a first-degree felony which is punishable by sentences of between 5 and 99 years in prison. Hargrove already has a conviction for a previous robbery and now faces a minimum term of 15 years behind bars.

Hargroves partners in crime, Michael Dewayne Wilson and Edward Donnell Hendrick, are awaiting trial for their alleged parts in the robbery.
