There’s a new sheriff in town…
March 09, 2007 - Tony LeungThere’s a new sheriff in town…
… and his name is Giorgio34.
Giorgio34 hasn’t been seen much at the Betfair Poker tables but he made his presence felt with a tremendous run of form at $250/$500 PLO. By the end of a two and a half hour session he was sitting pretty with $420,000. He won a pot of $190,000 with a tremendous call early on with only a pair of 7s.
His opponents were no slouches either - Erik1234 and –secret–. High stakes regular –secret– took most of the punishment while yet again Erik1234 made solid gains.
Why is Betfair Poker becoming such a popular site for the high stakes players?
Betfair’s Head of Poker Ben Fried said, “We have a visually pleasing interface with good high stakes liquidity. Customers can be confident about their money and can easily withdraw funds at any time; we have one of the best payments systems on the web. We also have a fraud and integrity team working consistently to ensure that our customers can play with confidence.”
Pots in excess of $150,000 are becoming a regular occurrence on Betfair Poker. With a maximum rake per pot of only $1 on the $250/$500 NL HU tables there is certainly value for the big pros.
Some of the big players include Bennyboi, Doooom, Duhfin, Erik1234, Hijay, kunkku, LoisLane, lolmenot, sincero, -secret-, The Slayer, AND Giorgio34.
