It's the whole reason Paul Wasicka won the NBC Heads Up Championship, and UK poker fans will get to see it, in a round about sort of way. It is the Party Poker Premiere League show, hitting UK airwaves on Channel 4 on May 22nd. Pro players invited to partake put up $20k of their own money into a pot that already contained $260k from host Party Poker.
Juha Helppi, Kenna James, Eddy Scharf, Liz Lieu, Roland De Wolfe, Andy Black, Tony G and Dave Ulliott were all in on the competition. So what does this have to do with Wasicka and the Heads Up Championship? Phil Hellmuth, who took part in the Premiere League, couldn't make it to the event he had won two years before, and so Paul was called in to replace him.
