Party Poker are introducing a brand new concept in online poker festivals, their Online Cash Game Championships. Cash game players are often overlooked when it comes to online festivals, instead they are left to grind it out at their preferred stakes. Now things are about to change over at Party Poker.
The Online Cash Game Championships starts on April 5th and there is $250,000 up for grabs.
The championships are based on seven qualifier levels with a “final table,” on which the top six players over the course of the championship will play for a $40,000 top prize. In order to qualify to advance from level to level, you must play a minimum of 400 hands during a time period.
The qualifying levels look like this:
Level 1
$0.50-$1 no-limit hold’em, Dates: April 5-9
The top 30% of players advance, while the remainder will move on to a “second chance”
Level 2
$0.50-$1 NLH, April 12-16
The top 30% of players advance and earn $50 cash
Second Chance
$0.50-$1 NLH, April 12-16
The top 10% advance and earn $50
Level 3
$1-$2 NLH, April 19-21
The top 30% advance, earn $200
Level 4
$1-$2 NLH, April 26-27
The top 50 players advance, earn $400
Level 5
$2-$4 NLH, April 29-30
The top 18 players advance, and earn $1,500 (half as cash, half for level 6 table)
Level 6
$5-$10 NLH, May 3
The top six players, in terms of win rate, advance and earn $10,000 (half as cash, half for level 7 table)
Level 7
$25-$50 NLH, May 7
Players will be judged on win rate. Top prize is $40,000. Second gets $20,000, third gets $10,000
