The Purple Lounge poker site has a reputation for putting on a pretty swanky poker tour, and it sounds like the latest installment, the Purple Lounge Swedish Poker Tour, was no exception. The event is over after descending on eight towns in Sweden and make plenty of converts to the Purple Lounge way of running a poker tour.
Helsingborg was the setting for the penultimate event, which took place at Club Cardinal, and the tour's popularity had preceded it as many players had to be turned away after the seats had filled up.
In the end it was Timmie Silverstrand who took the victory over Andreas Johnson when Silverstrand's queen picked up two ladies on the flop.
The last prelim event of the tour took place at Vastervik and was full of good cheer from a gang of players that all seemed to know each other. The final tally put Anton Karlsson up against Patrik Shmul, but Karlsson's wired Jacks failed to survive a Queen on the river to make a higher pair for Shmul.
The tour is a big hit for Purple Lounge, which brings along their own dealers to both support the players (by dealing cards) and distract them (on account of them all be beautiful models.) The first ever Purple Lounge tour coincided with Scandinavian beauty and singer/ actress Aylar Lie becoming the face of Purple Lounge and giving the blow by blow on the tour.
The marketing director for Purple Lounge, Julia Wild, mentioned on a recent press release that the tour was a "huge success" with great poker play. The entire string of eight events had a goal: to choose one winner from each to play in the Purple Lounge Swedish Poker Tour grand finale in October. The winner of this final event will get a trip for two to Macau for a week.
