Roland Isra Wins WSOP Circuit Atlantic City

Roland Isra has won the WSOP Circuit event in Atlantic City. The 52 year old poker professional overcame a massive chip deficit to net a $264,000 pay and a $10,000 buy-in to the WSOP main event.

Isra said; "I've been trying very long to get this gold ring and finally this makes me very happy. I really don't like to wear any jewelry because I was handling it for a long time, but this one is going to stay with me."

As the nine handed final table got underway, Isra was sitting in seventh place but then set about going on a marathon grind!  During the entire final table Isra didn't eliminate a single competitor until the heads up stage, instead he kept his head above water with some patient and selective play.

By the time heads up play began, Isra and Chris Mitchell were evenly matched but it didn't take Isra long to get a strangle hold on the game.  In the last hand the two got all the money in on a T-6-9-A board with Mitchell’s QJ in poor shape against A-9. No eight or king hit the river and Isra claimed the championship ring, $264,000 and a WSOP seat.
