Sam Trickett joined Tom Dwan at Macau’s insanely big game and left £1,000,000 richer.
Along the way, he pulled off a sick bluff for his entire roll and lived to tell the tale.
Bluff Europe reports that Sam was in South Africa when his buddy and WSOPE winner James Bord told him that he had spoken to Dwan about the big game.
Trickett decided to check it out for himself.
He got started with £320,000 and turned it into £480,000 before being able to get a seat in the Big Game.
He sold off percentages of himself so he wouldn’t risk his entire bankroll against the Chinese businessmen to whom this sort of money means nothing.
The Big Bluff
The most memorable hand of his session took place when he was at the table with Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Di “Urindanger” Dang and two Chinese businessmen.
Dwan raised as he does 80% of the time according to Trickett who called with QhJh on the button and the big blind called also.
The flop was a rainbow T32 and the businessman in the big blind bet out £16,000, Dwan called as did Trickett picking up on the weakness from the original bettor.
The turn brought a 7 and the businessman fired out £24,000 and Dwan folded. Trickett now raised to £64,000 and was called quickly by the businessman.
The river brought another 7 and the businessman checked and Trickett moved all in for his entire remaining roll for the Big Game of £160,000.
If he was called, his adventure in the world’s biggest game would have ended in disaster.
His read was good and the businessman folded to a total bluff.
His hands shook as he stacked up his £200,000 in profit.
Dwan picked up on the shaking hands as he scooped the pot and texted him “Nice bluff”.
