Sorel Mizzi Wins Bluff Magazine Player of the Year

Titan Poker’s superstar Sorel Mizzi has won the Bluff Magazine Player of the Year Award.

The Canadian poker player made off with almost $1.9 million in winnings in 2010.

His year got off to a good start when he finished in 3rd place in January’s Aussie Millions Main Event bagging $660,000.

He would go on to win two smaller EPT Snowfest events combined for an additional $140,000 in cash.

In April, he won the East Coast Championship at the Borgata for $170,000 and then placed 6th in the EPT Monte Carlo High Roller for $190,000.

stop saw him finish 2nd in the High Roller Event there for another $160,000 and another runner-up finish at the EPT Tallinn saw him add $98,000.

Several more final tables, including one at the WPT High Roller London saw him add more to his winnings and finish up at Bluff’s Player of the Year with the highest points total ever for the award.

Past winners include Phil Ivey, Jason Mercier and John Phan.

Tom Marchese, the CardPlayer Player of the Year would finish at #2 in the Bluff rankings.

Mizzi had a shot at winning both titles when he went deep in the end of year WPT Five Diamond Classic.  However, his 9th place finish wasn’t good enough to take the double.
