If you have yet to play at one of these dealer less tables, you may be in for a bit of culture shock when you sit down. It looks like a poker table, it feels like a poker table, and there are other players sitting down to play against you, but there is no dealer to collect your rack of chips from, no dealer to pass you the cards and put out the table cards. Of course, that also means no dealer to tip, either.
Should you be concerned about the proper poker strategy in this situation?
Does the game change at all? On the surface it would seem the game would be pretty much the same- after all the computer is just dealing cards and managing chips, right? You still have to play poker.
There are some differences: for example, there are no chips to play with - eliminating some of the tells some people give off when they fidget or reach for chips. No capping cards to indicate they plan on playing, either.
These chips are kept count of by the table AI- but if you are an online poker player at all, this actually works to your advantage, being used to this sort of thing at your favorite online poker room.
In the end you want to play good poker as always. A dealer less table does mean change, and there will be a little getting used to it, but over all your game strategies will work (or not work!) for you regardless of the existence of a human dealer.
