Thomas Marchese Wins Player of Year Award

Thomas Marchese is the top tournament player of 2010 according to CardPlayer’s tournament leader board.

This year was his 1st year on the tournament circuit and what a year it was for the newcomer who has now proved his worth in commanding fashion.

Throughout the year, he put in final table after final table winning over $2 million in the process.

He won two tournament titles during the year. 

First up was his huge win at the PokerStars North American Poker Tour Main Event

at the Venetian in Las Vegas.  He beat out a field of 872 players in the $5,000 buy-in event to win $828,000.

He also won the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Classic $1,000 buy-in event.

Marchese made  a total of 11 final tables and finished ahead of the likes of Dwyte Pilgrim, Sorel Mizzi, Vanessa Selbst and John Racener to top off an amazing rookie year on the tournament trail.
