Your mileage will vary, of course, but for the sake of this article we are going to assume we are right (we do that a lot) when it comes to claiming online poker is superior to live poker. And we have the Top Ten list to prove it!
Number Ten - Potty Breaks
You have to sit out of a poker game to run to the bathroom in live and online poker tournaments, but at least online you are only a few running strides away, and don't have to wait in line. Hopefully.
Number Nine - No Dress Code
Your local poker room may not have a "Jacket Required" policy when it comes to proper attire when playing poker, but you can bet they will insist you wear pants. No such restriction when playing from home.
Number Eight - No Tipping
There is no rule - unwritten or otherwise - that says you have to tip your wife for bringing you a beer, or the computerized dealer when you win a pot.
Number Seven - Choice of Music
Playing in your local bar league means you have to be subjected to the music tastes of the bar flies.
Number Six - Choice of Game
No matter how varied your local poker room is in what games they spread, some online poker room has twice as many choices.
Number Five - Choice of Limits
Blowing your bankroll on the $10/ $20 game because all of the $1/ $2 tables
were full all morning is not a lot of fun. Online you can nearly always find
a game in your limit.
Number Four - Rewards
Sign up bonuses, loyalty points, freerolls - online poker rooms live and die by the rewards they give their players.
Number Three - No Driving
People used to feel lucky they lived within an hour or two of the card room because it let them play poker once or twice a month. Those days are long gone.
Number Two - Money
You can earn some extra cash playing on your time, and at your convenience, without investing the time and resources to travel to a poker room.
Number One - Chat Block
It would be great if you could press a button at a live poker room and shut the mouth of the really aggressive, annoying guy. Online you can. If your game is getting disturbed by loudmouths (or loud typers, as it were) chat block is your peace of mind.
