Each player now takes home the 9th placed prize of $900,670 but over the next few months they will find themselves earning much more through publicity and sponsorship deals as this final table will be seen as the most profitable in history. That is of course before they even return to play out the final table in November and the $9,119,517 first prize (before interest).

The person who was unlucky enough to finish in 10th position was American Dean Hamrick who still takes home $591,869 but must be thinking "what if " after he was knocked out when he moved all-in with ace jack and was called by Craig Marquis who had pocket Queens. Hamrick did not hit his miracle Ace that would have saved him. Hamrick had cashed in last year's main event as well in the slightly worse 599th position, he will be hoping for a similar improvement next year.

Tiffany Michelle who had been the last female left in the field and who was hoping to become the first female winner of the main event was finally eliminated in 17th place and took home $334,534.
