Result- Canadian Max Greenwood saw off Dane Rene Mouritsen to win the $693,392 first prize. Incredibly this means that Mouritsen has now had three second place finishes at the WSOP and no win.

Result – In the tournament that was billed as the "real" World Championship of Poker a true legend of the game came through to win the title. Scotty Nguyen came through a small but stellar field to win the event and to take the first prize of $1,989,120. He beat American Michael Demichele heads-up and there were in total 5 former champions on the final table.

Result – American Joe Commisso beat fellow countryman Richard Lyndaker head-up to win the $911,855 first prize. This was Commisso's first ever WSOP cash and even more surprising only the 5th time he had ever played live.

Result – Americans Ryan Hughes and Ron Long battled it out heads-up for the $183,368 first prize and it was former winner Hughes who won the tournament to become the first two-time winner of this event.

Result – Brazilian Alexandre Gomes beat American Marco Johnson to win the $770,000 first prize. Gomes became not only the first Brazilian to win a bracelet but also the first person from South America to do so.

Result – American J.C. Tran finally won his first WSOP bracelet when he defeated Dane Ramus Nielson heads-up to take home the $631,170 first prize. Tran came into this year's WSOP having achieved almost everything except win a WSOP bracelet; he now has that monkey off his back.

Result – Northern Ireland's Marty Smyth beat Canadian Peter Jetten heads-up to win his first bracelet and the first prize of $859,549. This was Smyth's first bracelet win and in winning he was the receiver of the biggest prize ever given out for a Pot-Limit Omaha tournament.
