WSOPE Main Event 22 Remain; Phil Ivey, Viktor Blom Finish Strong

Crowd favorites Phil Ivey and Viktor Blom continued their winning play and finish Day 3 strong, in 6th and 5th place respectively.

With 22 players remaining on three tables, the chance of a dream final table is getting closer.

Robert Lee, a relatively unknown player on the tournament circuit, leads the pack and hopes to make a name for himself by winning the event.  It won't be easy for this relatively inexperienced youngster.

WSOPE Six Handed runner up Andrew Pantling is still lurking near the top in 3rd place, having relinquished the chip lead he gained earlier in the day.

Online poker pro David Peters is 2nd in chips.  He has won over $2.5 million in online tournaments and had two runner-up finishes in this year’s WSOP adding another $1.5 million in winnings in live poker results.  He will be a top contender.

Other notables include WSOP double bracelet winner Hoyt Corkins who is 7th in chips.

Hendon Mobster Barny Boatman will keep the English flag flying and currently situated in the middle of the pack.

Triple Crown winner Roland de Wolfe is the short stack of the tournament and will have to look to get his money in the middle and double to stay alive.

Last year’s runner-up Daniel Negreanu would make an exit today as his AK couldn’t outrun his opponent's pocket threes.

Barry Greenstein would also head home, but not before autographing a copy of his book “Ace on the River” for the player that eliminated him as well as recording the hand.  Barry is such a great guy and it’s great to have him representing poker in such a sportsmanlike fashion.

Here are the Top 10 chip counts for the start of Day 4:

Ronald Lee - $947,000
David Peters - $829,000
Andrew Pantling - $821,000
Daniel Steinberg - $768,000
Viktor Blom - $705,000
Phil Ivey - $657,000
Hoyt Corkins - $566,000
Nicolas Levi - $515,000
Bojan Gledovic - $500,000
Arnaud Mattern - $468,000

Stay tuned as we bring you updates for what looks to be a very exciting Final Table at this year’s World Series of Poker Europe.
